DAVID HENTY
JAKE FERN
The Righteous Brothers are David Henty and Jake Fern.
Drawn together by a mutual love of classical art, David and Jake soon found they also shared a distain for the pomposity and posturing of much of the contemporary art scene.
This provided material for their first collaborations but they soon aimed their brushes at the wider cultural/political landscape.
David Henty has been the subject of numerous documentaries, radio interviews and a novel or two. If anyone knows the art world, it's David. His perspective is unique.
He learnt his craft from a master draughtsman whilst in prison and has subsequently gained an international reputation as one of the greatest living copyists.
In a perfectly post-modern twist, the copyist is about to become the one they copy.

Jake Fern took a different route, nearly being destroyed by the nihilistic hell of Fine Art academia. He left with a First Class Honours in how to bullshit.
A nervous breakdown snapped him out of that spell and he embarked on a journey of self discovery, in the mountains of Nepal, the vineyards of South Africa and finally to a mud hut where he spent 5 years on the edge of a Sudanese refugee camp, the only Westerner for a hundred miles.
Now a professional portrait artist who has sold work at the prestigious Mall Galleries, he feels it's time to set the cat amongst the pigeons..
Together David and Jake are a team that knows what it takes to get people talking.
Being controversial is one thing but having the artistic skills to back it up is an increasingly rare find. The Righteous Brothers have it in spades..
